WINDOWS LOTTO v1.0 is a powerful lotto analysis program for
Microsoft Windows 3.0+. The program features a comprehensive set
of charts for handicapping lotto numbers. A Quick Pick option
picks the best numbers to play. The numbers picked can be used
with any of the 24 wheeling systems that are included with
WINDOWS LOTTO. The program also checks the resulting tickets for
winning matches. Context sensitive help is available for all
items.
WINDOWS LOTTO is compatible with all lotteries that pick 5, 6 or
7 numbers, including the new multi-state Powerball game. A data
file for the Florida lottery is included so that you can easily
evaluate the program. When you register for WINDOWS LOTTO you
you will receive an up-to-date data file for whatever lottery
you play, at no extra charge.
How to Get Started Quickly:
The file WINLOTTO.EXE on disk 1 is a self-extracting file that
contains the WINDOWS LOTTO program files. Copy the file to any
directory and type WINLOTTO to extract the files. After the
files have been extracted, you can delete WINLOTTO.EXE from the
directory.
The Visual Basic runtime library, VBRUN100.DLL, on disk 2 should
be copied to your Windows directory. The file is not compressed
so you can copy it directly from the disk. If you already have
VBRUN100.DLL in your Windows directory, there is no need to copy
it again.
After extracting the WINDOWS LOTTO files to the directory of
your choice, use the Windows Program Manager File-New menu
options to add LOTTO.EXE to one of your Program Groups, if you
wish to have it readily available. Otherwise, you can run it
with the File-Run option in Program Manager.
WINDOWS LOTTO will automatically load a data file at startup if
you pass it the name of the data file as a parameter. For
example, to automatically load the Florida data file that is
included with the program, type "LOTTO.EXE FLORDIA.DTA".
The file PRODUCTS.DOC contains detailed information on other
lotto products that we carry. Registered users receive a
discount on these products. An order form is included in the
file PRODUCTS.FRM.
How to Print the User's Manual:
______________________________
You can print the WINDOWS LOTTO User's manual by clicking on
"Documentation" in the WINDOWS LOTTO Help menu. It can also be
printed by running Microsoft Write, and then loading the file
WINLOTTO.WRI.
How to Obtain Technical Support:
________________________________
All users can obtain Technical Support either by U.S. mail or
CompuServe Email (72356,354). We will try our best to fully
support unregistered users during their evaluation period, but
we will give priority to registered users, if necessary.
Registered users become eligible to receive free, unlimited
Technical Support by telephone.
What SHAREWARE is:
__________________
Shareware describes a method of distributing copyrighted
software in which a user is allowed to fully evaluate the
software before purchasing it. After an evaluation period, the
user is required to register the product if s/he decides to keep
using it.
Shareware distribution addresses all of the legitimate
complaints that users have with commercial software
distribution.
o Shareware allows a user to fully evaluate a product, free of
charge, in his or her home, *before* deciding to buy it.
o Shareware programs can circulate freely on Bulletin Boards,
through Shareware disk distributors, or through user groups.
o Because Shareware distribution reduces the need to
advertise, Shareware is less expensive than commercial
software.
o Shareware authors can often be more responsive to users'
requests for help or bug fixes than large software
companies.
o Shareware software, needless to say, is never copy-protected.
In short, Shareware is a user's dream come true. Users show
their appreciation to developers for this extremely flexible
distribution scheme by registering their software. Without user
registrations Shareware software would gradually disappear. It
is not sufficient to simply let the "other guy" pay the
registration. You are the other guy's "other guy".
What SHAREWARE is not:
______________________
Shareware is not "free" software. Shareware is not Public
Domain software. The fee that you may have paid to receive a
Shareware program does not mean that the software has been paid
for. This money was paid to a Shareware disk vendor, User
Group, Bulletin Board Service or retailer to cover their cost of
getting the program to you. Shareware software is paid for by
registering your copy with the author.
The Future of WINDOWS LOTTO:
____________________________
By distributing WINDOWS LOTTO as Shareware I am expressing my
confidence in the public to "Do the Right Thing". I would like
you to evaluate WINDOWS LOTTO for as long as 30 days before
deciding whether you want to keep it. If you do decide to keep
it, you must register your copy. Full details on registration
can be found in the REGISTER.DOC file. I would be anxious to
hear your comments about WINDOWS LOTTO. Please feel free to
contact me with your suggestions for new features, etc.
