  1. WINDOWS LOTTO v1.0 is  a  powerful lotto  analysis  program  for
  2. Microsoft Windows 3.0+. The program features a comprehensive set
  3. of charts for  handicapping  lotto numbers. A Quick Pick  option
  4. picks the best  numbers  to play. The numbers picked can be used
  5. with  any of  the 24  wheeling systems  that are  included  with
  6. WINDOWS LOTTO. The program also checks the resulting tickets for
  7. winning matches. Context  sensitive  help is  available  for all
  8. items.

  10. WINDOWS LOTTO is compatible with all lotteries that pick 5, 6 or
  11. 7 numbers, including the new multi-state Powerball game.  A data
  12. file for the Florida lottery is  included so that you can easily
  13. evaluate the program.   When you register for WINDOWS LOTTO  you
  14. you  will  receive  an up-to-date data file for whatever lottery
  15. you play, at no extra charge.

  17. How to Get Started Quickly:
  18.  
  19. The file WINLOTTO.EXE on disk 1 is a self-extracting  file  that  
  20. contains the WINDOWS LOTTO program files.  Copy  the file to any 
  21. directory and  type WINLOTTO  to  extract  the files.  After the 
  22. files have been extracted, you can delete WINLOTTO.EXE from  the 
  23. directory.

  25. The Visual Basic runtime library, VBRUN100.DLL, on disk 2 should
  26. be copied to your Windows directory.  The file is not compressed
  27. so you can copy it directly from  the disk.  If you already have
  28. VBRUN100.DLL in your Windows directory, there is no need to copy
  29. it again.

  31. After extracting  the WINDOWS LOTTO  files  to  the directory of
  32. your  choice, use  the  Windows Program  Manager  File-New  menu
  33. options  to  add LOTTO.EXE to one of your Program Groups, if you 
  34. wish to  have it  readily available.  Otherwise,  you can run it 
  35. with the File-Run option in Program Manager.

  37. WINDOWS LOTTO will automatically load a  data file at startup if
  38. you  pass it  the name  of the  data file  as a  parameter.  For
  39. example,  to automatically  load the  Florida  data file that is
  40. included with the program, type "LOTTO.EXE FLORDIA.DTA".

  42. The  file  PRODUCTS.DOC  contains  detailed information on other
  43. lotto  products  that  we  carry.  Registered  users  receive  a
  44. discount  on these products.  An  order form  is included in the
  45. file PRODUCTS.FRM.

  47. How to Print the User's Manual:

  50. You can print the WINDOWS LOTTO User's  manual by  clicking  on
  51. "Documentation" in the WINDOWS LOTTO Help menu.  It can also be
  52. printed by running Microsoft Write, and  then loading  the file
  53. WINLOTTO.WRI.

  55. How to Obtain Technical Support:

  58. All users can obtain Technical Support either by U.S.   mail  or
  59. CompuServe  Email  (72356,354).    We will try our best to fully
  60. support unregistered users during  their evaluation period,  but
  61. we will  give  priority  to  registered  users,   if  necessary.

  63. Technical Support by telephone.

  68. Shareware  describes  a   method   of  distributing  copyrighted
  69. software in which a  user  is  allowed  to  fully  evaluate  the
  70. software before purchasing it.   After an evaluation period, the
  71. user is required to register the product if s/he decides to keep
  72. using it.

  74. Shareware   distribution   addresses   all   of  the  legitimate
  75. complaints   that   users    have   with   commercial   software
  76. distribution.

  78.   o Shareware allows a user to fully evaluate a product, free of
  79.     charge, in his or her home, *before* deciding to buy it.

  81.   o Shareware programs can circulate freely on Bulletin  Boards,
  82.     through Shareware disk distributors, or through user groups.

  84.   o Because   Shareware   distribution   reduces   the  need  to
  85.     advertise,   Shareware  is  less  expensive  than commercial
  86.     software.

  88.   o Shareware authors can often be  more  responsive  to  users'
  89.     requests   for   help  or  bug  fixes  than  large  software
  90.     companies.

  92.   o Shareware software, needless to say, is never copy-protected.

  94. In short,  Shareware is a  user's  dream come true.   Users show
  95. their appreciation to developers  for  this  extremely  flexible
  96. distribution scheme by registering their software.  Without user
  97. registrations Shareware software would gradually disappear.   It
  98. is  not  sufficient  to  simply  let  the  "other  guy"  pay the
  99. registration.  You are the other guy's "other guy".

  101. What SHAREWARE is not:

  104. Shareware is  not  "free"  software.    Shareware  is not Public
  105. Domain software.   The fee that you may have paid to  receive  a
  106. Shareware  program does not mean that the software has been paid
  107. for.   This money was  paid  to  a  Shareware disk vendor,  User
  108. Group, Bulletin Board Service or retailer to cover their cost of
  109. getting the program to you.   Shareware software is paid for  by
  110. registering your copy with the author.
